Description

From left to right the time spent was about 3ish hours on it. Spent mostly working off and on with the white shirt and jacket. These consist of store items I've bought and customized or had lying around. So the Breakdown:::

Left: Just finished gathering all the base materials. kids/girls Old Navy white denim trucker-style jacket ($20.00), white men's short-sleeved dress shirt size 15us ($9.00), khaki skinnyish fit RUDE brand jeanish pants from the local Hot Topic ($25.00 bought with a sale promotion at the time). Belts(in the pics) had already and are just place holders, boots: had and bought as replacements for another costume a few years ago (price: idek).

Middle: after about 1.5 hours I have the jacket cropped up and in to the sides. and the bottom strip that was taken off was made into epillets/shoulder things where you put military ranks on some uniforms. The undershirt which I will post pictures of by itself with where I took it in was well, a PAIN. The jacket was tough to sew through because it was denim but the shirt was a $50.oo shirt normally so it was fairly nice and I wanted to make it useable. I am normally a women's SMALL (hence the large sized GIRLS jacket working for me) so I took it in in the sleeves, in the side seams, the bottom came up (which was at about my knees prior to this) and the back came in. Most of the time went into the shirt but even my bro who is a slight 'cosplay snob' as I put it and is super particular about stuff said it was good! yay! There's a bit of a snag in the front where the machine caught it and the only place where it shows how big it was is the collar. XD

Right: Well, not much was done. Just some work on the jacket, which is now brown/khaki colored now. As I thought the thread in it was polyester, meaning it doesn't take dye at all/very good. This thing....ugh. I had to dye it twice. first time, I had used Rit brand powdered dye TAN color. Somehow, either the water not being not enough or it being bad or not mixing well, it left splotches on it. Like pink, yellow and blue splotches. Yeah so $7.00 later I used some RIT Color Remover and got the spots out and most of the color (it went to a yellow color XD), I re-dyed it using almost boiling water and the same color dye but Liquid instead. After following the instructions and washing it appropriately, this was the result. Its about the right shade. Not exact yes, but I am not by any stretch of the imagination a professional. I know I need to trim the stray threads off (did that) just wanted a pic of it to put up.

Stay tuned for the quest to make the harnesses for the 3D Manuver Gear! woot! Lets see if I can keep this under $100.
